Shopping with the cops

This year 30 children were nominated by their schools to participate in this event which gives each child $100 to buy gifts for themselves and their families.  The students are from Endeavour, Mukilteo, Columbia and Fairmount Elementary schools.

This year, children will submit wish lists to Officers prior to the event and Officers will go select gifts for the children.  The gifts will all be wrapped and then delivered to the child’s home along with a pre-made meal for the whole family.  Watch out for the PD and their sleigh (patrol cars) to be out this Friday, delivering Holiday cheer.

Chief for a Day Swearing in Ceremony

Chief for a Day is an outstanding program that benefits chronically ill children and their families, and is put on with support from local law enforcement, hospitals, and other organizations.  These special kids get a custom tailored police uniform, gifts, and VIP treatment throughout the summer.  In Mukilteo, the Police Foundation and Police Department sponsor this through a series of events, including a swearing in ceremony, party and fundraiser, and engagement with the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WSCJTC).

You are cordially invited to join in the Mukilteo Police Foundation, Mukilteo Police Department, Mukilteo City Council, and Mayor Gregerson for the swearing in of the 2016 Chief for a Day, Lev Morgan.
